Dining on a Dime: Dinner and a Movie Combos, and More

Cooking at home is the best way to save cash, but it’s nice to go out sometimes, too. Check out Frugal Foodie every Friday for a selection of the latest coupons for casual and fancy fare.

This week: free desserts, cheap dinner-and-a-movie combos and secret restaurant specials, among other deals.

1.SB&G

Grab a coupon at the hostess’ station for a free dessert at the new Tarrytown, N.Y., restaurant. Available through Dec. 20.

2. Mimi’s Café

Get a free starter or small plate worth up to $7.99 when you use a print out coupon and make a purchase of at least $15. Participating locations only. Offers ends Dec. 19.

3. Hitching Post

Through Dec. 31, diners at the Oakley, Ohio restaurant will receive a sealed red envelope with each order. When they bring it back unsealed from Jan. 1 through Feb. 11, the server will open it to reveal a prize, which could be a free mug, catered food or other deals.

4. Arby’s

Get a free turnover with any combo purchase and a print out coupon. Excludes value meals. Participating locations only. Expires Dec. 20.

5. Disneyland and Walt Disney Resorts

Download vouchers to save 30% when dining off-hours at the park’s quick-service restaurants. Must dine before noon or between 3 and 4:30 p.m. Alcohol is excluded. Can be used Dec. 19 to Jan. 3 at Disneyland, and between Dec. 19 and Jan. 1 at Walt Disney World.

6. Del Taco

Facebook fans can get a free pollo asado chicken taco with any purchase. Participating locations only. Good through Dec. 25.

7. Dinner & A Movie 3

Springfield, Mo.’s, Downtown Urban Alliance organized a promotion between participating restaurants and local movie theaters to offer $5 tickets with the purchase of an entrée. Promotion lasts through Feb. 15.

8. McCormick & Schmick’s

Buy any entrée and get a premium movie ticket (i.e., one for any current showing) at a nearby theater for just $5. Good while supplies last.

9. T.G.I. Friday’s

Save 25% off your food purchase with a print out coupon. Dine-in only. Participating locations only. Good through Dec. 27.
