Reminder: Mint Bill Payment Feature No Longer Supported

TLDR: Mint bill pay feature will no longer be available as of June 30th

At Mint, our goal is to make money management effortless. From budgeting, to tracking your transactions to regular credit score updates, we aim to help you stay on top of your finances. We are continuously innovating and improving the Mint experience to make that as easy and effortless as possible.

We want to inform you that as of June 30, the bill payment feature within Mint will be discontinued. While this means you’ll no longer be able to pay your bills through Mint, you will still be able to track your bills, set reminders and mark bills as paid. You will also still be able to budget, track expenses, monitor savings, view investments and check your credit score.

For those of you who actively use the Mint bill payment feature, we are here to help you navigate to find an alternative payment solution, such as using the bill pay feature available through most bank and credit card companies.

We are focused on continuing to innovate in Mint for the best possible experience in tracking your financial life in one place and provide you the best insights to save and grow your money. Some of the latest improvements currently live on Android (iOS updates coming soon) include:

  • Calendar: We heard your feedback and are releasing a new and improved bills calendar so you never miss a bill!
  • Credit card usage: Visually track your credit usage for all your credit cards and avoid hurting your credit score by overspending

In addition, Mint will soon undergo a refreshed design that will include powerful new insights and money saving offers to help you reach your financial goals.

  1. Jack of all trades, master of none. I really like Mint, but it’s a little disheartening to see you chase the next big thing when there are so many things you could do at home to improve.

    The search functionality experience is terrible. I had to figure out tricks get the search history views that I needed for particular investigations into my long term budget (i.e., select budget, pick entire range, click on auto, untag auto, untag hidden accounts = Amount I spent last year by account). I still can’t search a given range of dates or dollar amounts. I can’t even search a specific dollar amount for my transactions when investigating a fraud claim. I have to use an excel sheet updated monthly to track my long-term spending in a digestible and reliable way because …

    Your reporting has not been updated in forever either. I hope I don’t have to go into detail about how much attention is needed to this area but I’ll mention quickly, your investment reporting is inaccurate. It doesn’t handle deposits of cash well at all and it doesn’t handle automated investing at all. It just makes my 401K, which is doing rather well, look blood red. Oh .. and it also still requires flash, which, maybe I can understand, but it’s not a good experience.

    All of these things make me periodically question whether you are updating your security as well. If you ignore the basics of budgeting and decide to pursue … bill payments, are you also willing to skimp on sprints for security?

    I really really liked Mint. But lately it feels like My Space waiting for a Facebook. I spend more than a few hours a year investigating your competition to see if they’ve caught up yet. They haven’t, but YNAB is making quarterly updates and is focused on Budgeting. Your current edge has gone from clearly better product to mostly just cheaper product. At some point, you’ll lose that edge too.

    And again, I really like Mint.

  2. It’s sad; I used to use PayTrust, even before it was purchased by Intuit in US, and it has worked for me for last 20 years with no issues.. I wish Canada had a similar service: it would save me tremendous amount of time.
