Dining on a Dime: Free Coffee, Soft Serve Ice Cream and Other Deals

Cooking at home is the best way to save cash, but it’s nice to go out sometimes, too. Check out Frugal Foodie every Friday for a selection of the latest coupons for casual and fancy fare.

We’ve got two words for you this week: free coffee. What’s not to love? And even if you’re not a coffee drinker, we’ve got 10 other dining deals — at a variety of establishments ranging from fast food and coffee shops to fancy restaurants — including early bird specials and a food truck festival!

1. Holiday

Stop at one of the gas station chain’s convenience stores and use this print out coupon to get a free 20-ounce coffee or cappuccino. No purchase required. Participating locations only. Expires August 15.

2. The Pearl Room at the Setai

New York recipients of the free TastingTable.com emails can get a coupon for two-for-one cocktails and a free selection of bar snacks during the evening service. Offer good through August 3.

3. Baskin Robbins

Use a print out coupon to get a free soft serve cone with the purchase of another. One coupon per customer per visit. Participating locations only. Coupon good through August 8.

4. The Pearl

This Treasure Island, Fla., restaurant now offers diners who arrive between 4 and 6 p.m. a $10 early-bird special of a salad and your choice of five entrees. The ongoing deal has already gotten great reviews.

5. El Pollo Loco

Buy one queso crunch burrito and any size drink and present a print out coupon to get a second queso crunch burrito free. Participating locations only. Offer expires August 3.

6. New York City Restaurant Week

Yes, we wrote about this deal a few weeks back. But NYC has extended its celebtration through Labor Day, with participating restaurants for specially priced $24.07 lunches and $35 dinners. (Originally, the deal was supposed to run from July 12-25.)

7. Starbucks

California residents can sign up to receive a mailed coupon good for a free artisan snack plate. Offer good while supplies last.

8. Food Truck Festival

On August 8, Boston residents can head to Harrison Avenue in the South End for local, cheap eats such as M&M Ribs. A rib dinner with two sides is just $10.

9. Chili’s

RestaurantCouponsandDeals.com found a print out coupon good for $4 off the purchase of any two entrees. One per table; not valid with the $20 three-course meal promotions and other value meals. Participating locations only. Deal expires August 4.

10. Miami Spice Restaurant Month

Through September 30, participating restaurants are offering three-course lunches for $22 and dinners for $35. Tourists have the added benefit of discounts on hotels, spas and other attractions.

11. Chevy’s

DealNews.com spotted two coupons expiring August 28. One gets you 20% off a regular-priced entree, and the other, a Fresh Mex Combo for $3 with the purchase of one at full price. Participating locations only. Coupons cannot be combined.
